You need to look at the x values when you calculate that.

There is a line which goes from -2 to 0. Another line at 0 to 4 and the last line is 7 to infinity.

You can combine the first two and get B) (-2, 4] and [7, infinity)

The domain of the graph is \boxed{\left({ - 2,4}\right]{\text{ and }}\left[ {7,\infty }\right)}. Option (b) is correct.

Further explanation:

Domain is a set of all the possible values of the function. The values at which the function is defined is known as domain.

Range is a set of values that the function takes.

The output values of the function are known as range and the input values on which function is defined is known as the domain of the function.

Explanation:

The x coordinates are the domain of the function and the y coordinates are the range of the function.

The included value of the function is denoted by the solid circle and in the interval it is represented by close interval “\left[{}\right]”.

The values that are not included in the function are denoted by the hollow circle and in the interval is is denoted by “\left({}\right)”.

From the graph it has been observed the -2 is not included in the domain, 4 is included in the domain as well 7 is also included in the domain.

The domain of the graph is \boxed{\left({ - 2,4}\right]{\text{ and }}\left[{7,\infty }\right)}.

Option (a) is not correct as the domain of the graph is \boxed{\left({ - 2,4}\right]{\text{ and }}\left[{7,\infty }\right)}.

Option (b) is correct.

Option (c) is not correct.

Option (d) is not correct.

A car dealership has found that the length of time before a major repair is required on the new cars it sells is normally distri
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

The variable of interest in this case is:

X: length of time before a major repair is required on a new car. (months)

This variable has a normal distribution with mean μ= 36 months and a standard deviation σ= 9 months.

If he wants to set a guarantee period in which only 5% of the sold cars fell, the objective is to find the value of X that has below 5% of the cars that need major repairs before the end of the guarantee period.

Check the attachment, the curve represents the distribution of the population of the time it takes before a new car needs major repairs, I've marked approximately where this value of X should be.

Symbolically:

P(X≤a)=0.05

To reach the proper value of "a" you have to work using the standard normal distribution because is a tabulated distribution and you can extrapolate it to any normal distribution.

Z= \frac{X-Mu}{Sigma}~N(0;1)

So the first step is to look in the table of the Z distribution for the value that accumulates 0.05 of probability since it is such a low probability, you have to look for the value in the left side of the table (negative values of Z). You look for 0.05 in the body of the table and then the margins for the corresponding value (see second attachment)

Z_{0.05}= -1.64

Then the value that accumulates 0.05 of probability is -1.64, now you have to reverse the standardization to reach the asked value of X

Z= (a- μ)/σ

(Z*σ)= a - μ

a=(Z*σ)+ μ

a=(-1.64*9)+36

a= 21.24 months.

The guarantee period should be 21.24 months so that only 5% of the sold cars will need major repairs before it wears of.

I hope it helps!

Payton has 2 pizzas. each pizza is cut into 10 equal slices. she and her friends eat 14 slices. what part of the pizzas did they
kakasveta [241]
14 / 20 total slices = 7 / 10, which is 0.7 if you're looking for a decimal.
That's 70% of the pizza, which I would eat by myself.

How<br> Do you graph 2x+8y=-32
Neporo4naja [7]
First, subtract 2x from both sides of the equation to get 8y = -2x - 32. Then, divide the equation by 8, to get y = -x/4 - 4. Your y-intercept will be -4, and it's slope will be -1/4.
