In Beowulf, it was often repeated that young men should make a name for themselves. As compared to the era of the Anglo-Saxon, they do not believe in an afterlife. They thought that eternity is referred to the honor and great deeds that they have done in their time on earth. It was often acclaimed not just in Beowulf but in other literary pieces like the Trojan War and the Odyssey.
He started building the Hall of Mirrors which was about expanding Versailles so that it could house all the nobles from his court. He did this because he believed that they would be under his watchful eye and would not be able to plot against the throne. This was an example of absolute power because nobody would be allowed to say no and nobody would be allowed to do anything not approved by the king.
The setting of the poem is strong.
The poem is universal because racism is everywhere.
