Neonicotinoids are pesticides that affect insects’ neural networks. They work like nicotine. Due to this property, they affect bees behaviours such as learning of navigation routes, communication with other colony bees, and ability to forage for nectar. This therefore ultimately causes what is referred to as honey-bee colony collapse disorder(CCD).

Which student identified the correct order of events?
Natali5045456 [20]

Answer:

C. Tyrone:

 1. Information stored in DNA
 2. Transcription
 3. Translation
 4. Gene Expression

Explanation:

Central Dogma of Molecular Biology:

 • The central dogma of molecular biology is the scheme that illustrates the flow of genetic information from DNA to RNA to protein. The processes include:
 • Genetic information is stored in DNA in the form of nucleotide bases.
 • This DNA sequence is converted into RNA sequence through a process called transcription. Transcription produces an mRNA which is complementary to the DNA sequence of the gene but contains ribonucleotides.
 • mRNA is read in the form of codons which are triplet codes of nucleotide bases specific for a specific amino acid. These codons are decoded and translated into proteins through the process of translation.
 • Both processes of transcription and translation combined with post-translational modifications of proteins is termed as gene expression.

Which hormone is largely responsible for women having wider hips than men?
GREYUIT [131]

Answer: Estrogen

Estrogens are hormones also referred to as female sex hormones because these hormones are primary in women. They are produced in the ovaries, adrenal glands, and fat tissues. The function of estrogen in the body is complex—it is essential in the growth and development of female breasts, pubic and armpit hair, and the regulation of the menstrual cycle and reproductive system. It also prepares the reproductive organs for conception and pregnancy. Women have wider hips because of estrogen, too.

Which task would be completed by an ecologist?
Zielflug [23.3K]

The answer is option D "test the effect of cyanide on algae." Ecologist are researchers who study how organisms interact with their environment so in this case they are testing how algae reacts to cyanide. In another example they will be testing how a ape reacts to having a different fruit tree in their habitat. It wouldn't be option A, B, and C because you have to remember the job of a ecologist and the options are not jobs of one.

Hope this helps.
