Number 1: the steps i would take are, get down on the floor head down taking deep and long breaths (just incase smoke comes along and your body needs oxygen, by taking deep breaths your body’s blood flow is good enough to last without no air for some time almost like holding your breath) the next thing i would do is remove any clothing that is loose to prevent it catching on or blowing. if it was a earthquake i would get all my stuff to drop down and cover either under a desk or a piece of furniture, i would get them to stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls anything that could fall on them
