Data created by someone who was not present at an event, but read or heard about it is known as a Secondary source of data.
Let understand that Primary data means a data collected directly from an event and this includes data from newspapers, maps, speeches, interviews etc.
Secondary data are data collected by someone, other than the primary user and this includes Government publications, websites, journal etc.
In conclusion, any source of data which was collected by someone who was not present at the event but read about is known as "Secondary Source of data"
The primary source is the person who was at the event, so we can rule that option out. They can not be a main source because they were not at the event. They can not be a witness because they would have to be present to be able to witness the event, so that rules out primary witness. All that is left is Secondary Source.
