People with cystic fibrosis produce mucous in the lungs which results in difficulty in breathing and mucus is also produced in the pancreas which prevents the digestive enzyme release and causes improper digestion in patient.

Due to this poor growth and several disease like pneumonia occurs in patient despite healthy and good appetite. So appetite in the person who has cystic fibrosis is not affected therefore the statement "My child will have a poor appetite, which will lead to poor growth" should be correct.
