10. Find TU :

Given values :

  • ST = 4 units

  • SU = 12 units

As we saw :.

  • ST + TU = SU

  • 4 + TU = 12

  • TU = 12 - 4

  • TU = 8 units

11. Find TU :

Given values :

  • ST = 2 units

  • UV = 7 units

  • SV = 19 units

According to observation :

  • ST + TU + UV = SV

  • 2 + TU + 7 = 19

  • TU = 19 - 9

  • TU = 10 units

Six miles of fence surround a rectangular field half a mile wide. How long is that field?
Sidana [21]

Answer:

Let's call the length x. Since perimeter = 2 * (length + width) we can write:

6 = 2(x + 1/2)

3 = x + 1/2

x = 2 and 1/2

The answer is 2 and 1/2 miles long.

What is the value of x in the diagram?
Verizon [17]
2 lines parallel, and 2 triangles have a common angle
So the smaller Δ  is similar to the bigger Δ (AA Similarity)
9:(4x-2)+9=12:(3x+2)+12
9:4x+7=12:3x+14
9(3x+14)=12(4x+7)
27x+126=48x+84
21x=42
x=2
So the answer is x=2
