The basic idea is that multiplying by 10 just moves the decimal point one place to the right. It makes the number bigger.

Examples:

3.1 x 10 = 31

3.1 x 10 x 10 = 31 x 10 = 310

Each time you multiply by another 10, the decimal point moves one more place.

In your exercise, 10^3 says you're going to multiply by 10 three times in a row. So that will move the decimal point 3 places to the right.

So what do you get if you move the decimal in 4.25 three places to the right?

algol13

Answer:

3.576 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

radius of ball, r=?

Given:

Density, p = 0.600g/mL

mass, m= 115g

finding volume, v of ball by using formula p=m/v

v= m/p

= 115/0.600

=191.666 mL^3

=191.666 cm^3

Now using formula v= (4/3)πr^3 to find radius, r of the ball

r^3= 3v/4π

 = 3(191.666)/4π

 =45.75 cm

r =3.5767 cm !

Complete the equation: x2−4x+−−=(−−)2
Flauer [41]

The complete equation is x^2 - 4x + (-2) = (-2)^2

How to complete the equation?

The equation is given as:

x^2 - 4x + __ = (__)^2

_____________________________

Take the coefficient of x

k = -4

Divide by 2

k/2 = -4/2

k/2 = -2

Square both sides

(k/2)^2 = (-2)^2

_____________________________

Add the result of the above computation to both sides of x^2 - 4x + __ = (__)^2

So, we have:

x^2 - 4x + (-2) = (-2)^2

Hence, the complete equation is x^2 - 4x + (-2) = (-2)^2

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

a = -4

b = 3

c = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2 + 8x = 38

We take the coefficient of the x term

Divide by 2 and then square it

8/2 =4

4^2 = 16

Add 16 to both sides

x^2 +8x + 16 = 38 + 16

x^2 +8x +16 = 54

Take b/2 and use it in the the (x+b/2)^2

(x+4)^2 = 54

Take the square root of each side

sqrt((x+4)^2) = ± sqrt(54)

x+4 = ± sqrt(54)

Subtract 4 from each side

x+4-4 = -4 ± sqrt(54)

x = -4 ± sqrt(54)

Simplify the square root

x = -4 ± sqrt(9*6)

x = -4 ± sqrt(9) sqrt(6)

x = -4 ± 3 sqrt(6)

Fed [463]

r = - 18

multiply both sides by 3 to eliminate the fraction

3 × 6 = - r ⇒ 18 = - r ⇒ r = - 18
