4.25x10 to the power of 3 in standard notation

The basic idea is that multiplying by 10 just moves the decimal point one place to the right.  It makes the number bigger.

Examples:

3.1 x 10 = 31

3.1 x 10 x 10 = 31 x 10 = 310

Each time you multiply by another 10, the decimal point moves one more place.

In your exercise, 10^3 says you're going to multiply by 10 <u>three</u> times in a row.  So that will move the decimal point 3 places to the right.

So what do you get if you move the decimal in 4.25 three places to the right?

Which is a quadratic function?<br><br> A y = X-9<br> B y = x² +9<br> C y = x + 2x -9
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

B y = x² +9

Step-by-step explanation:

A quadratic function must have the highest power of x being x^2 and must have an x^2 term

A y = X-9  - linear

B y = x² +9 quadratic

C y = x + 2x -9 - linear

If f (n)(0) = (n + 1)! for n = 0, 1, 2, , find the taylor series at a=0 for f.
Pie
Given that f^{(n)}(0)=(n+1)!, we have for f(x) the Taylor series expansion about 0 as

f(x)=\displaystyle\sum_{n=0}^\infty\frac{(n+1)!}{n!}x^n=\sum_{n=0}^\infty(n+1)x^n

Replace n+1 with n, so that the series is equivalent to

f(x)=\displaystyle\sum_{n=1}^\infty nx^{n-1}

and notice that

\displaystyle\frac{\mathrm d}{\mathrm dx}\sum_{n=0}^\infty x^n=\sum_{n=1}^\infty nx^{n-1}

Recall that for |x|, we have

\displaystyle\sum_{n=0}^\infty x^n=\frac1{1-x}

which means

f(x)=\displaystyle\sum_{n=1}^\infty nx^{n-1}=\frac{\mathrm d}{\mathrm dx}\frac1{1-x}
\implies f(x)=\dfrac1{(1-x)^2}
