D-Day know as Normandy or operation Neptune as know it was one of the most bloodiest attack of all times. Its main purpose was to get into France because the Germans had used their method blitzkrieg and they had crushed France. The only way to penetrate into France was by the coast beaches of Normandy France. 156,000 troops where sent into D-Day they where loaded on the Aircraft carriers and then once they where close to their location their where loaded into U boats and those boats leaded them to the beaches of France. A brutal fight went down on the beaches it took them 15 days to complete their invasion from the beaches to the heart of France.
The Yalta Conference was a meting between the three allied powers USSR Russia, United Kingdom, United States. This meting was intended mainly to discuss how to re-establishment of the nations that where torn from the war in Europe. Also they where going to shape a post-war peace this was for the people in Europe to have self-determination to all the liberated people in Europe. But within a few years the cold war would be dividing the continent. And this meting would become an intense controversy.
A good argument for it is that it created peace. It literally ended an almost 7 year war. A downside is that it created a line down the middle of the US which caused people to fear crossing it. Everyone stayed where they were and never explored.
Hope this helps!
