Answer:

41.25 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

What you first want to do is to divide 66 by 8, and you would recieve 8.25.

Next Multiply 8.25 by 5 and the would be the amount of miles that is equal to 66km

f(g(x)) is a composite function:

f(g(x))=f(\sqrt{x+5})=2\sqrt{x+5}-1

Plug in <em>x</em> = 4:

f(g(4)) = 2\sqrt{4+5}-1=2\sqrt9-1=2\cdot3-1=\boxed{5}

so the answer is C.

If 3 + root8 by 3-root8 + 3-root8 by 3+root8 = a+broot2 find a and b
s2008m [1.1K]

If \frac{3+\sqrt{8} }{3-\sqrt{8} } +\frac{3-\sqrt{8} }{3+\sqrt{8} }=a+b\sqrt{2}, the value of a and b is given as a = 34 and b = 0

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more variables or numbers.

\frac{3+\sqrt{8} }{3-\sqrt{8} } +\frac{3-\sqrt{8} }{3+\sqrt{8} }\\ \\\frac{9+6\sqrt{8}+8+9-6\sqrt{8}+8  }{(3-\sqrt{8} )(3+\sqrt{8} )} \\\\\frac{34}{9-8} =34+0\sqrt{2}

If \frac{3+\sqrt{8} }{3-\sqrt{8} } +\frac{3-\sqrt{8} }{3+\sqrt{8} }=a+b\sqrt{2}, the value of a and b is given as a = 34 and b = 0

Please help! Explain how to solve!
Gnesinka [82]
So this one is a little tricky because in order to solve you need to combine like terms. The only problem is that two fractions don't have the same denominator.
This is what you do.
2/3 - 1/9
= (2*9) - (1*3) / 3*9
= 18 - 3 / 27
= 15/ 27
Simplify.
5/9 + y = 7/9
Now since you need to isolate the variable you have to subtract 5/9 from both sides. Since the denominator is the same you can just subtract the numerator.
So y = 2/9
I hope this helps love! :)
