Answer:

The stiffness and straight pose of the Kouros figure brings to mind Egyptian statues. Korai had the same stiff pose, but its right arm is held lightly against the body and the feet ate placed tightly together. Sculpted figures went from sold and stuff to having balance, proportion, and sense of movement to showing more dramatic and emotional subjects.
