<u>The function of pituitary gland is;</u>

  • To control all other glands and their secretion amount.
  • It has 3 parts, anterior lobe, mid lobe & posterior lobe.

Am given just a brief detail about these three;

  • <u>A</u><u>n</u><u>t</u><u>e</u><u>r</u><u>i</u><u>o</u><u>r</u><u> </u><u>l</u><u>o</u><u>b</u><u>e</u><u>:</u> It controls growth hormone, thyroid stimulating hormone, leuteinzing & follicle stimulating hormone.
  • <u>M</u><u>i</u><u>d</u><u> </u><u>l</u><u>o</u><u>b</u><u>e</u><u>:</u> Controls melanocyte stimulating hormone.
  • <u>P</u><u>o</u><u>s</u><u>t</u><u>e</u><u>r</u><u>i</u><u>o</u><u>r</u><u> </u><u>l</u><u>o</u><u>b</u><u>e</u><u>:</u> Vasopressin hormone & oxytocin.

<u>T</u><u>h</u><u>e</u><u> </u><u>f</u><u>u</u><u>n</u><u>c</u><u>t</u><u>i</u><u>o</u><u>n</u><u> </u><u>o</u><u>f</u><u> </u><u>t</u><u>h</u><u>y</u><u>r</u><u>o</u><u>i</u><u>d</u><u> </u><u>g</u><u>l</u><u>a</u><u>n</u><u>d</u><u> </u><u>a</u><u>r</u><u>e</u><u> </u><u>a</u><u>s</u><u> </u><u>f</u><u>o</u><u>l</u><u>l</u><u>o</u><u>w</u><u>s</u><u>;</u>

This gland has two lobs and obviously these 2 lobs contains two different hormone, these are;

  • <u>T</u><u>h</u><u>y</u><u>r</u><u>o</u><u>x</u><u>i</u><u>n</u><u>e</u><u>:</u> Its main function is to control the metabolice rate of the different organs and tissues.
  • <u>C</u><u>a</u><u>l</u><u>c</u><u>i</u><u>t</u><u>o</u><u>n</u><u>i</u><u>n</u><u>:</u><u> </u> Whenever, the concentration of calcium is high in the blood, it moves calcium from blood to bone & it forbiddens the reabsorption of calcium in renal tubular.

Carbon-12 and Carbon-14 are isotopes; it means that
jok3333 [9.3K]
A :-) Isotopes are forms of the same element with equal numbers of protons but different numbers of neutrons. For example, both carbon-12 and carbon-14 have 6 protons. But carbon-12 has 6 neutrons while carbon-14 has 8 neutrons. By definition, carbon-12, carbon-13 and carbon-14 are all isotopes of the carbon.
