Mr. Johansen has just finished grading a test he had given to his 5th period history class. Overall, he feels that the class did

pretty well, knowing that two students earned a 100% and at least half of the class scored a 78% or better. But, Mr. Johansen also knows that there are a few very low scores in the 40% – 50% range that will lower the average.
In order to get a good picture of his class's performance on the test, Mr. Johansen plans to create a box-and-whisker plot to summarize the test results. Based on what he already knows, which of the following plots is most like what Mr. Johansen should expect for his 5th period history class?

Answer:

AY = 16

IY = 9

FG = 30

PA = 24

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>The </em><em>centroid </em><em>of the triangle </em><em>divides each median</em><em> at the ratio </em><em>1: 2</em><em> from </em><em>the base</em>

Let us solve the problem

In Δ AFT

∵ Y is the centroid

∵ AP, TI, and FG are medians

→ By using the rule above

∴ Y divides AP at ratio 1: 2 from the base FT

∴ AY = 2 YP

∵ YP = 8

∴ AY = 2(8)

∴ AY = 16

∵ PA = AY + YP

∴ AP = 16 + 8

∴ AP = 24

∵ Y divides TI at ratio 1: 2 from the base FA

∴ TY = 2 IY

∵ TY = 18

∴ 18 = 2

→ Divide both sides by 2

∴ 9 = IY

∴ IY = 9

∵ Y divides FG at ratio 1:2 from the base AT

∴ FY = 2 YG

∵ FY = 20

∴ 20 = 2 YG

→ Divide both sides by 2

∴ 10 = YG

∴ YG = 10

∵ FG = YG + FY

∴ FG = 10 + 20

∴ FG = 30

What is the value of the following expression?2 x [(12 + 2) x 5] + 32 divided by 2 number on top right 3
a_sh-v [17]

The value of the expression is 141.5

Explanation:

The expression is $2 \times[(12+2) \times 5]+\frac{3}{2}$

The value of the expression can be determined using the rule PEMDAS.

According to the PEMDAS rule, first we need to perform the operation which is within the parenthesis.

Thus, the expression becomes,

$2 \times(14 \times 5)+\frac{3}{2}$

Multiplying the values within parenthesis, we have,

$2 \times70+\frac{3}{2}$

Using PEMDAS, we need to multiply the numbers.

$140+\frac{3}{2}$

Again using PEMDAS rule, divide the number,

140+1.5

Finally, using PEMDAS, let us add the values, we have,

141.5

Thus, the value of the expression is 141.5
