Which compromise established that territory from the Louisiana Purchase above 36°30' would be free from slavery?
DIA [1.3K]

Missouri Compromise

The Missouri Compromise split the Louisiana Territory with the North being free from slavery and the South being allowed to have slavery.

The issue of slavery was a rising concern and with each state entering into the Union the balance of slave and free states was skewing. With a new land mass to be concerned with, the government needed a compromise to deal with new states coming into the Union in an effort to maintain slave v. free states. Missouri was entered as a slave state and Maine entered as a free state. The compromise also set the 36'30 line splitting Louisiana Territory. The compromise would last until 1850.

WHAT ARE THE DIETARY PRACTICES THAT YOM KIPPUR, EASTER, AND RAMADAN HAVE IN COMMON
vichka [17]
Ramadan probably has more in common with Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement, than with Lent. Although Yom Kippur is just one day, the fasting regimen is similar to Ramadan, as is the notion of submission and forgiveness. That’s all I know sorry -.-

Why were ranches in
North Texas able to
grow to great size?
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

By the late 1800s, huge ranches had developed in Texas. One factor that led to their growth was changes in the railroads. In the 1860s, most rail lines ended north of Texas, so cattle had to be driven to them. In the 1880s, rail lines were extended into the state.
