Describe the natural history of hepatitis C virus infection, with reference to each of the stages in the natural history timelin
nalin [4]

Answer:

The answer is described below

Explanation:

Hepatitis C infection results from exposure to blood and other organic fluids infected with the hepatitis C virus. After infection, acute hepatitis occurs. Some of the patients present jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes) although many do not and may not notice they're infected. Spontaneous resolution may occur in less than half of the patiens in this stage within six months after infection. Those who do not, progress on to develop chronic hepatitis. About one third or less of these patients will progress to cirrhosis that takes about 25 to 30 years to develop. Chronic hepatitis may also cause liver cancer and other diseases and may be diagnosed by the presence of HCV RNA after six months of infection.

An organism has the following characteristics.
maw [93]

Domain Eukarya - kingdom Protista

Explanation:

Kingdom Protista is a diverse group of eukaryotes which can be animal-like, plant-like or fungus due to their similarities. Although they have similarities with animals, plants and fungus, they are grouped separately since they cannot fit completely into those groups.

Protists can be unicellular (like phytoplanktons ) or multicellular with microscopic or of huge enormous sized cells.

Some of the protists can undergo photosynthesis to prepare their food but some live under a mutual relationship with other organisms and depend upon food with those organisms. So protists can either be autotrophs or heterotrophs.

The protists have a nucleus in their cells and hence are eukaryotes.

Similar to animals they also have other organelles like endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, cytoplasm.

Similar to plant cells, their cells have chloroplasts (autotrophs) and are covered with a cell wall.

Similar to fungi, certain protists can decompose the organic content and recycles them back to the environment. Plasmodium, slime molds are some of the protists.
