INTRODUCTION

The saying “Men come from Mars and women come from Venus” is all based on the differences between the sexes. While feminists claim they want equal rights to men, it cannot be ignored that there are some basic differences between the two sexes. When these differences are taken into account, it becomes clear that in some cases women cannot enjoy an equal footing with men.

WOMEN

There are certain things that women can do far better than most men can. These tasks include:

Multi-tasking

Being in touch with feelings and emotions

Able to learn new tasks at a quicker rate than men

Of course there are exceptions to the rule as many men may claim. However women do tend to excel at intelligence and language skills. These skills have long helped women both in their careers and at home where they struggle between raising a family and raising the money necessary to keep the family in all that they need.

IDEAL CAREERS FOR WOMEN

With skills such as intelligence, caring and language skills, there are many careers that are perfect for most women. Careers that are said to be women’s work include:

Nursery nurse

Nursing

Social care

Secretary

Receptionist

There are many others that can be added to this list. However with skills such as intelligence and language, women also make good bosses and many find themselves moving up the career ladder.

MEN

Men tend to fare better in ideas of strength other than intelligence. Men also tend to be far more aggressive than women. This strength and aggression allows men to excel at sports such as:

Boxing Weightlifting Martial Arts Body Building

IDEAL CAREERS FOR MEN

Not only is this strength and aggression found in sports but also in careers that many claim to be men’s work. These jobs include:

Mechanics

Builders

Plumbers

There are some exceptions to the rules as yes there are some women who undertake these careers but on the whole they are seen to be jobs for men.

CONCLUSION

Women tend to be better at some things and men at others. There will always be the exception to this rule as yes some men can be seen to be more feminine than others. It is also said that some women can be seen to be more masculine than others. However on the whole there is a big difference between men and women that cannot be ignored.

How does Fitzgerald use indirect characterization to illustrate Gatsby's nervousness in chapter five?
PtichkaEL [24]
Fitzgerald used indirect characterization by describing Gatsby's action, like when "he nearly toppled down a flight of stairs" ( Fitzgerald 91), instead of saying Gatsby was nervous. This is another way for Fitzgerald to be descriptive by describing Gatsby instead of stating what he is.
