Which of the following functions have only one point that is not in the domain? Select all that apply. (There are 2 answers)
densk [106]

Answer:

  B.  f(x) = 3/(x^2 +2x +1)

  E.  f(x) = 5/(3+x)

Step-by-step explanation:

The above functions have denominators that are zero at one point. For B, that point is x=-1; for E, that point is x=-3. When the denominator is zero, the function is undefined, so the corresponding x-value must be excluded from the domain.

__

As written, choice D also qualifies. This is because the function written in the answer list here is ...

f(x)=\dfrac{1}{x^2}+5x+4

It will be undefined for x=0.

_____

<em>Comment on writing rational functions</em>

When the division symbol (/ or ÷) is used with a denominator that is a product or sum, that product or sum must be enclosed in parentheses. When the expression is typeset, the division bar acts as a grouping symbol. When the expression is written in text, a grouping symbol, such as parentheses, must be added.

How do you find circumstance of a circle using the area? please help!
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula C = 2√πA is designed to find a circle's circumference using the area (A). Alternatively, you can solve the equation A = πR2 in reverse to find R, then plug R into the circumference equation.

What is the extracts volume of the largest cone that can fit into a cube with edges of 10 inches
Aneli [31]
Volume of a cone = π r² h/3

I envisioned a cone inside a cube. I only identified the necessary value to compute for the exact volume of the largest cone.

Edges of the cube is 10 inches. When the circle part of the cone is placed in the circle, the diameter would be 10 inches also. I divided it by 2 to get the value of the radius, resulting to 5 inches.

The height of the cone is also the height of the cube. Thus, it is 10 inches.

Volume of the cone = 3.14 * (5in)² * 10in/3
V = 3.14 * 25in² * 3.33 in
V = 261.405 in³ or 261.41 in³  VOLUME OF THE LARGEST CONE THAT CAN FIT IN A 10 INCH CUBE

A charter airline finds that on its Saturday flights from Philadelphia to London, all 120 seats will be sold if the ticket price
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

a) P=3(120-s)+200

b) 215 \leq P \leq 290

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we can use a linear model to solve the problem.

s) Create an equation to express the increase on the price tickets and the number of seats sold

s number of seats, if w analyze the info given the number of seats after increase the price is given by 120-s.

And let P the price for the ticket. So after the increase in ticket price the expression for the increase is P-200.

We have an additional info, for each increase of $3 the number of setas decrease 1. And the equation that gives to us the price change in terms of the increase of price is:

P-200=3(120-s)

So then our linear equation is given by:

P=3(120-s)+200

b) Over a certain period, the number of seats sold for this flight ranged between 90 and 115. What was the corresponding range of ticket prices?

So for this case we just need to replace the limits into the linear equation and see what we got:

P_L=3(120-90)+200=290

P_U=3(120-115)+200=215

So the corresponding range of ticket prices is:

215 \leq P \leq 290

Hey guys, I know this is a lot so I am offering a lot of points. I was stumped on this paper, I just need a little help on how t
Llana [10]
So for number one, you would have to divide the number by the one being multiplied. I’ll do the first one and you can do the second one, comment if you need help.
(4)*_=-12 —> -12/4 = -3
Check : -3*4 = -12
The answer would be -3.
For the second one, multiply all the numbers first and find the actual answer.
(4)*(-7)*(-1) —> 4 * -7 = -28 —> -28 * -1 = 28
Then multiply their answers.
Evangelina : (-28)*(-1) = 28
Josh : (4)*(7) = 28

Now check who has the right answer and explain why.

For number three, use the letters and plug in the values that are being given to you.

e —> -e
-e * f = -15
-e * g = 6
f * g = -10

Now solve from there!

I really hope I helped, comment if you have any questions:)
