At a ticket offer, a man inquires of the narrator if he has insurance. The man says he doesn't but would like to buy one for the next day when he will in fact be in bed and not travelling. The man goes into a detailed explanation that when doing extensive research on the subject matter, he discovered that the statistical likeliness of dying while on trains or boats or other modes of transportation is significantly less than the likelihood of dying in bed. To that end, he swears by only purchasing insurance when he knows he will be staying in his own bed as opposed to any other place that he encounters.
Reflection
This was definitely typical Twain, pointing out the obvious at the risk of sounding ridiculous and done with such style and matter-of-factness that you find yourself questioning why it is that you might subscribe to such an idea in the first place. Though it is clearly a fictional "I" relating the tale, one can't help be see Twain himself making the argument in some social setting and having people find it convincing.
There are many changes that can happen in a person' s life. Some changes are very tiny
and would not affect your life very much. However, other events could be very important
and could change a person' s whole life, such as qetting married, having a baby, or losing
someone special. The important event that changed my life is coming to the United States
to study.
When I first arrived in this country, I realized that a tremendous transformation would
happen in my life both physically and mentally. After spending more than two months in the
United States, I firmly believe that moving to the United States is a beneficial change for me.
This change provides me a chance to lead a healthy lifestyle as well as a new way of
thinking that are significant for me.
It is essential to have this change as it offers me a healthy lifestyle. Before coming to the
United States, I used to stay up late at night to study and wake up early in the morning. This
was a hazard to my health that could cause me to get sick easily. When I decided to come
to America, I made up my mind and determined to keep a healthy routine. For example, I
enjoy the American-style meal which includes having a fresh salad instead of cooked
vegetables. This method of cooking vegetables helps me absorb more vitamins from them.
As a result, I can feel that I am becoming healthier and healthier.
Additionally, this important change enables me to think differently and internationally. This
is my first time living in a North-American country. Hence, I have a brand new opportunity to
experience a new culture. Because I live in a multicultural society, living in Los Angeles has
expanded my horizon on a lot of things - lifestyle, eating habits, and respectful greeting
manners. By knowing more about different cultures, I have become more considerate and
understanding of various habits as well as behaviors from different races. Consequently, I
have changed into someone who has a new way of seeing distinct issues happening around
me.
To sum up, mov ing to the United States was an important change in my life because of
giving me the chance to have a healthy lifestyle and a new way of thinking. I have changed
my eating and sleeping habits in a good way. Meanwhile, I have become more
understanding of different cultures. Thus, this change is very important and beneficial for
me.

Explanation:
Changes that the author of Harrison Bergeron wants to see in the society:
Harrison Bergeron is a protagonist of the short science fiction story written by Kurt Vonnegut Junior. The story envisions a society governed by the rules imposed by a lady dictator Diana Moon Glampers, the handicapper General, in charge of ensuring equality so that no one is better than anyone else.
She has devised inhuman means to enforce her set of desires using blinding spectacles, mental radio fitted in ears to hamper normal mental processes and other mechanical aids to serve her brutal purposes.
Bergeron is a boy who has been sent to prison for no valid crime of today’s world. When he tries to assert independence and tries to overthrow domination by perpetrators of brutality, he is shot dead along with a ballerina who tries to rebel with him.
He is the person who seeks change , speaks for his basic human rights , asserts and accepts his independence as an integral part of his survival as a human being. He is silenced forever by the insecure General
. The narrator tries to say that differences of form and intelligence make us human.
All are different. Those with higher intelligence like George, should not be handicapped but allowed to think and reason out. A society that is governed by the maxims of welfare and freedom to live can only succeed. Equality should not be imposed. Differences should be celebrated and allowed as being natural.
