Answer:

The benefits and the challenges of geography for the Mesopotamian and Egyptian empires are that they had their personal river valleys, which were essential for them.

Both lived close to the Mediterranean sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Red sea: perfect for trading. Egypt is surrounded by desert and sea, making it protected with natural walls.

Mesopotamia is alike in that, it's connected by desert to the east and south, mountains to the north, and sea to the west.

Mesopotamia had the Tigris River and the Euphrates River as their water system while Egypt has the Nile River.

The rivers are essential to these two areas. They both flood annually, providing some guarantee of grain and water and provides a way for the civilizations to transport goods.

Both were close to the Mediterranean sea, Persian gulf, and red sea - ideal trading opportunities.

What is President Roosevelt’s primary purpose in his State of the Union address?
rodikova [14]

President Roosevelt aims to instill hope and inspire citizens to help in the efforts of war.

Explanation:

Americans honor Franklin D Roosevelt as the leader who guided them out of the 1930's Great recession and through history's biggest global war. As an author of drastic change in his culture, he ranks among Jefferson, Lincoln, and Wilson.

The words of his inaugural speech on 4 March 1933 are once again echoing throughout the world: ' We must just fear ourselves, the nameless unreasonable, unreasonable terror that paralyzes required efforts to translate retreat forward. '

The American people voted Roosevelt President by a broad margin in 1932, at their pinnacle with the Great recession and the opposition candidate, Herbert Hoover, unable of effecting any change or inspiring hope.

While the recession was less than over, the very first term reforms in banking, healthcare, unemployment, job relief, and retirement FDR offered a sense of security and hope for millions they had never before known.

Why do you think gladiatorial contests and public games were so popular among ancient Romans?
tatuchka [14]

Personally, I think it's because it was simple and free entertainment. Given that there wasn't a taboo around death and watching others die, and it actually being encouraged, like how it was in Anciient Rome, I'd say a lot of people would actually at least try out visiting a gladiatorial contest.
