Joshua is going kayaking with a group during one of his vacation days. In his vacation planning, he budgeted $50 for a kayak ren
pochemuha

Answer: Divide Kayak budget by rental rate

Step-by-step Explanation:

As Joshua is renting for himself alone, the two available options would be the Single Kayak and the Single Sea Kayak.

He can determine the number of hours to rent a Kayak for by dividing his Kayak Budget by the rental rate per hour of the 2 options available to him.

Single Kayak

Budget available = $50

Rental rate = $15 per hour

Hours he can rent = 50/15

= 3.33 hours

Single Sea Kayak

Budget available = $50

Rental rate = $18 per hour

Hours he can rent = 50/18

= 2.78 hours

N is the sum of three consecutive primes and is also the product of two 2-digit primes, what is the least possible value of N
Nookie1986 [14]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer: N = 143

Discussion:

This one took some trial and error! At first I listed all 2 digit primes, looked at the list, but didn't know how to proceed. So, I took the smallest 2 digit primes numbers: 11 and 13 and wondered if their product, 13*11 = 143, could be represented as the sum of 3 consecutive primes. I went back to my list of primes, added groups of three consecutive numbers that seemed to be in the right range to give the desired sum, and stumbled on 43, 47, and 53!

43 + 47 + 53 = 143 !

Therefore N = 143. It's the sum of 43, 47, and 53 as well as the product of 11 and 13.

Thank you,

MrB

Which ordered pair in the form (a, b) is a solution of this equation?
Evgen [1.6K]

3a - 4b = 21

check (-2 , -3)

3(-2) -4(-3) =21

-6 +12 = 21

6 does not = 21 so NO

check (0 , 7)

3(0) -4(7) =21

0-28=21

-28 does not equal 21 so NO

check (-3 , -2)

3(-3) -4(-2) =21

-9 +8 = 21

1 does not = 21 so NO

check (7 , 0)

3(7) -4(0) =21

21 = 21
