A letter to a friend is an informal letter or a friendly letter.

It opens with a heading which includes the writers address and date. For example.

                                                                               Universal Model School,

                                                                               90 Aba Owerri Road,

                                                                               Aba.

                                                                               September 15, 2021.

This heading must be written at the top right hand corner of the paper.

The heading is followed by the salutation. The salutation often carries the name of the friend to whom the letter is written.

For instance;

Dear Chinma,

This salutation is followed by the body of the letter which is divided into paragraphs.

Each paragraph discusses a key point.

After asking your friend after his/her welfare, you can now tell the story of what happened at the excursion and why your school chose to visit that particular location.

The other paragraphs may now discuss the benefits derived from the excursion. Each paragraph must discuss only one benefit.

The letter closes with words such as;

Yours Sincerely,

Your name

<u>A letter to my friend telling him an excursion my school went on and its benefits.</u>

24, Sixth Avenue,

4th cross Road,

Oregon,

United States.

Dear Timi,

              How are you today? How is family over there? I hope all is well with you? I am also doing great over here.

I am writing this letter to tell you about my experience in the recent excursion our school went on and how it has benefited me. The excursion took place at the white house where we had the opportunity to meet with the President of the United State of America. He was very friendly and welcoming. He personally took us around the white house and told us the history of the white house.

After the tour, he randomly gave 3 students a full scholarship to study in any of the colleges in the country for free after our high school and I was privileged to be among the recipient. I am really happy I won the scholarship and I thought of sharing it with you.

It is been a long time my friend. I have really missed you. I can't wait to see you after my graduation.

With love,

Mikky

A trochaic octameter is a metrical form where the syllables follow the pattern of a stressed syllable is followed by an unstressed syllable, with the pattern occurring eight times in a line. An example of this metrical form is <em>"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary"</em> from Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven".

An iambic pentameter is a metrical form where an iamb/ foot has an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable, with a repetition of five times in a line. An example of such form is the line<em> "Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?" </em>from "Sonnet 18" by William Shakespeare.

I would feel the same way. Knowing how the man feels at the end hearing his own voices, goes to show me what the brain can do that us as people have no control over. In all I would feel despaired and hopeless.
