Compare and contrast methods for obtaining data from earth's surface and earth's upper atmosphere

Biology
1 answer:
WARRIOR [948]3 years ago

Answer:

Thermometers measure the temperature. Barometers measure air pressure. An anemometer measures wind speed. A hygrometer measures humidity. Instruments for gathering upper-atmospheric data is more complex than those used for obtaining data from Earth's surface. For example, a radiosonde consists of a package of sensors and a battery-powered radio transmitter.

7. Why is it impossible for a parent with type AB blood to have a baby with type O blood?
maxonik [38]

Answer: This is because a parent with type AB blood has both A and B antigens therefore, the child must inherit either A or B antigen from the parent.

Explanation: In ABO blood type, blood types are classified on the basis of the antigens present in the red blood cells. There are two types of antigens: A and B antigens.

A blood type is so named because it has A antigens, B blood type has B antigens, AB blood type has both A and B antigens while O blood type has no antigens.

Each of these blood types is controlled by two alleles, and children inherit one allele from each parent. If a parent has AB blood type, none of his offsprings will have O blood type because each offspring must inherit either antigen A or B from this parent.

The stretch hold is a restraint technique:
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

Option B,

Explanation:

Proper restraint and handling techniques are used while dealing with animals in laboratory. These techniques ease the process of dealing with animals and must be practiced on regular basis even when there is no procedure being performed.

Unlike other animals cat is the most co-operative animals and it is usually dealt by restraining the body be one hand and head by other hand. Cats can also be restrained by holding the scruff with one hand and then gently holding the hind limbs followed by stretching it.

Hence, option B is correct.

What is osmosis? ???
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

In biology, osmosis is defined as the net movement of water molecules through a semipermeable membrane (e.g. cell membrane) from an area of higher to an area of lower water potential. Other definitions of osmosis are as follows:

The process of a solvent diffusing through a semipermeable membrane from an area of low solute concentration to an area of high solute concentration

The tendency of water to flow from a hypotonic solution (low concentration of dissolved substances) to hypertonic solution (higher concentration of dissolved substances) across a semipermeable membrane

In chemistry, osmosis is defined similarly. It is the passage of a pure solvent from a solution of lesser to one of greater concentration of solutes when the two solutions are separated by a membrane that selectively prevents the passage of solute molecules while allows the solvent molecules to pass through.
