1) The Greasers spent a good chunk of their time hanging out and fooling around, while Ponyboy rather spend his time alone usually watching movies and reading.
2) He didn't care whether the law permitted his behavior or not, he was just going to do it anyway and no one can say anything about it.
3) It's surprising that she'd be into the "bad boy" type, and it's a pretty odd attraction to be honest.
4) A fair fight is between two people, in which neither are allowed to use weapons.
5) It's a misunderstanding between the two groups. They're living completely different realities from each other, and simply don't know how to treat each other. Hence why the Socs act all entitled and misuse their resources to mistreat the Greasers. The Greasers have no other choice but to retaliate against them.
Third Part-
Personally, I do not think any fight is legitimate, even if it's considered to be "fair". A fight is still a fight, no matter what the reason, who's fighting or the outcome. My point is, there are better ways to work out problems, and physically or mentally abusing another party isn't one of them.
Keeping true to the question though, if all parties up-hold the rule in question, and the circumstances in which the fight is occuring are fair, then by definition, it would be a legitimate fight, by gang standards maybe.
