Tartwell, I would start by multiplying 1.90 by 5, which is 9.50. Meg can buy more than that. Maybe, multiply 1.90 by 10, you get 19, which is way too much. Multiply 1.90 by 7, you get 13.30, she can STILL buy more. Multiply 1.90 by 8, and you get 15.20. If you added 1.90 to that, she wouldn't have enough money. Since you multiplied by 8, that's how many bags she can buy :)
the volume of a cube is length*width*height so here all three are 1 3/4 (same as 1.75) and so you multiply 1.75 * 1.75 * 1.75 and that gives you 5.4 when rounded.
