That was a fine attitude when she was having her after-school snack, or playing with her friends, or watching movies all evening, but now she sat squirming in her seat, praying that Ms.Green wouldn't ask her to go up to board to demonstrate a problem. She dropped her eyes to her desk as Ms.Green eyes swept the classroom, looking for a victim.

The setting is the evil Ms. Green's classroom, as stated in sentence 6. The whole paragraph takes place there despite Margaret reminiscing about playing or watching movies in different places, as we are never there with her in the present tense, only in thought. Keep your eyes down and the teacher won't notice you!
