Answer:

Both George Calvert and William Penn supported a version of religious freedom, in which they based their respective colonies.

Explanation:

-George Calvert was an English politician that held high positions under James I of England. In 1619, in order to reward him for the services rendered, Jacques I granted him a property of 9.3 km² in County Longford, Ireland, which was named Baltimore Manor with the title of Baron.

Having embraced Catholicism, he resigned his office (1624), and left to form an establishment in Newfoundland under James I. Obliged to abandon it because of the incursions of the French, he obtained from Charles I of England the concession of lands located north of Virginia, in which he founded the colony of Maryland, based on religious freedom and toleration.

-William Penn was an English Quaker, philosopher and real estate entrepreneur. He founded the Province of Pennsylvania, an American English colony and future Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. There he initiated a social project known as the "Holy Experiment", in which social equality, individual rights and pacifism were promoted. The colony subsequently became the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware; and its democratic principles served as an important source in the inspiration of the American constitution and the American tradition.

Answer:

Number 1?

Explanation:

if your looking for a fine cut answer then I would go with Number 1 but in reality none of these answers are correct southerners did not welcome the abolishment of slavery in anyway. While legally slavery was no more it was replaced with other systems like share cropping that continued to oppress minorities, as well as segregated bathrooms, schools and water fountains many minorities found it near imposable to find stable job from discriminative white business owners.
