One's own culture can make one closed off to others, but also appreciative certain things.

Explanation:

While someone's culture can make them like certain things, like specific flavors, styles of music, styles of drawing, etc. it can also make one closed off to other ideas- as they're only comfortable with their culture. This can apply to nearly everything, as almost everything is a product of its culture.
