The Articles of Confederation was a flop. In the founders attempt to limit the central governments power they ended up basically giving no power at all to the central government and the states were left to govern themselves way too much. Different forms of currency and different policies within each state caused mass chaos. This then led to the creation of the Constitution which allowed the central government to unite all of the states and create a much stronger government.
