Which sentence uses the

English
1 answer:
Sati [7]3 years ago
8 0

The sentence that uses the word incorrectly is;

 • C. Howard felt judgous as he got a call from the phone company when he forgot to pay his bar.

The word desultory is synonymous with the term haphazard. So we can also say that Howard's belongings were lying carelessly in his room. So the word fits well.

In the second sentence, believing that the word is dangerous, it fits correctly because it will be harmful to Howard not to pay his bills. So, this word also matches the sentence.

In the third sentence, guilty will be a better way to express the way Howard felt when he got a call from the phone company.

(corroboration)How long does this document either support or expand the textbook version of the montgomery bus boycott?
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

It doesn´t, taken in account the word long.

Explanation:

It seems to me that the question should be formulated like this:

How does this document etc.

Because the either supporting or expanding of the textbook version can´t be measured in time; you either support it or you expand on it.

Which is the most likely reason the author used the word fresh so often in the passage
slamgirl [31]
Can you provide the passage? If not, he word fresh in literature is most likely used to talk about something new or done again. For example, every morning you have a fresh start because in a way the day is 'reset'. Essentially you're staring from square 1. It can also mean something new because when you open a box that's never been opened it's fresh and new. It can also mean fresh as in no additives. For example there is a fruit and veggie section at the store but one half says 'organic' and the other does not. This is because one most sprayed with bug repellent and the other was not. So fresh can mean a lot in literature but you really have to use context clues to understand the full meaning.

What does “thou dost snore distinctly. There’s meaning in thy snores.” mean in the Tempest?
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

In simple words, he is saying that the other man snores in a particular way (different from the way other people snore/sound) -- maybe with certain sounds, presumably. To say that there's meaning in the snores suggests that he can (in his mind, anyway) detect a sort of language or communication.

Explanation:

'Distinctly' indicates in a way that is readily and clearly distinguishable by the senses -- something that is very noticeable or apparent.
