The rest of the gang is there and Johnny is charged for killing Bob. Because of the Socs and the Greasers have a fight. The Greasers win. Unfortunately, Johnny dies in the hospital and Dally robs a store because of this. As he is running with the merchandise, he is hot by the police. The story ends just how it started as Ponyboy is writing his journal entry about these vents.
