Step-by-step explanation:

(a²-b²)(c²-d²) = a²c² - a²d² - b²c² + b²d²

(b²-d²)(c²-a²) = b²c² - a²b² - c²d² + a²d²

the sum of both is

a²c² + b²d² - a²b² - c²d² = a²(c²-b²) + d²(b²-c²) =

= a²(c²-b²) - d²(c²-b²) = (c²-b²)(a²-d²) = 2021

after a little check we find 2021 is only divisible by 43 and 47 (or 1 and 2021).

so, it is clear that our expression resembles

43×47 = 2021

that means that e.g. c²-b² = 43, and a²-d² = 47

or the other way around, it does not matter.

what squared integer numbers give a difference of 43 ? and 47 ?

squared numbers

1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 81 100 121 144 169 196 225 256

289 324 361 400 441 484 529 576

aha ! 484 - 441 = 43

and 576 - 529 = 47

so, we get

a = sqrt(576) = 24

b = sqrt(441) = 21

c = sqrt(484) = 22

d = sqrt(529) = 23

one could also use the formula for consecutive squared numbers

(n+1)² = n² + 2n + 1

under the assumption that the 2 numbers are convective (which it turns out they are in this example) we get

(n+1)² - n² = 2n + 1 = 43

2n = 42

n = 21

n+1 = 22

and for 47

2n + 1 = 47

2n = 46

n = 23

n+1 = 24

Solve the following 3 × 3 system. Enter the coordinates of the solution below.
defon

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  (x, y, z) = (-1, 0, -3)

Step-by-step explanation:

We notice that the coefficients of z are such that elimination of the z term from the equations is made easy.

Adding equations 1 and 2:

  (2x -3y -2z) +(x +3y +2z) = (4) +(-7)

  3x = -3

  x = -1

Adding equations 2 and 3:

  (x +3y +2z) +(-4x -4y -2z) = (-7) +(10)

  -3x -y = 3

Substituting for x, we get ...

  (-3)(-1) -y = 3

 0 = y . . . . . . . . . . . add y-3 to both sides

Then z can be found from any equation. Substituting for x and y in the second equation gives ...

  -1 +2z = -7

  2z = -6 . . . . . add 1

  z = -3 . . . . . .divide by 2

The solution is (x, y, z) = (-1, 0, -3).

Coach Rivas can spend up to $750 on 30 swimsuits for the swim team. The inequality shown can be used to find the maximum amount
777dan777 [17]

Answer:

$0 < p ≤ $25

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that coach Rivas can spend up to $750 on 30 swimsuits.

This means that the maximum cost that the coach can afford to pay is $750, then if the cost for the 30 swimsuits is C, we have the inequality:

C ≤ $750

Now, if each swimsuit costs p, then 30 of them costs 30 times p, then the cost of the swimsuits is:

C = 30*p

Then we have the inequality:

30*p ≤ $750.

To find the possible values of p, we just need to isolate p in one side of the inequality.

So we can divide both sides by 30 to get:

(30*p)/30 ≤ $750/30

p ≤ $25

And we also should add the restriction:

$0 < p ≤ $25

Because a swimsuit can not cost 0 dollars or less than that.

Then the inequality that represents the possible values of p is:

$0 < p ≤ $25
