An emperor wants his empire to be in good hands, so he decided to to test the candidates by giving them a seed to grow, which they will have to return in a year. A man named Ling noticed that his seed was not growing and everyone's else was. He ended up going empty handed after a year. To his surprise he was chosen to be the emperor because all of the seeds were previously boiled so that they would not grow. Ling was the only one that was honest - and that is the theme of this story; to be honest.
