I am pretty sure it is B because x is the slope in a graph and 1 can be 1/1 and parrarel means opposite so opposite of x axis is y.
opposite of 1/1 on x axis is opposite of 1/1 on y

If Emma is 12 Luke is two times her age Kendra is 1 half of Luke's age how old is Kendra
Natali [406]
We already know that Emma is 12, and if Luke is twice her age, then that means we need to multiply 12 by 2, which equals 24. If Kendra is one half of Luke's age, which is 24, then we must divide 24 by 2, which equals 12.
In conclusion, Kendra is 12 years old.

You throw two four-sided dice. Let the random variable X represent the maximum value of the two dice. Compute E(X). Round your a
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

E(X)=3.125

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that two four sided dice.

Then , the sample space

{(1,1),(1,2),(1,3),(1,4),(2,1),(2,2),(2,3),(2,4),(3,1),(3,2),(3,3),(3,4),(4,1),(4,2),(4,3),(4,4)}

Total number of outcomes=16

Let the random variable X represent the maximum value of the two dice

Outcomes                            X                                 P(X)

(1,1)                                          1                                 1/16

(1,2),(2,1),(2,2)                                   2                        3/16

(1,3),(2,3),(3,1),(3,2),(3,3)                    3                           5/16

(1,4),(3,4) ,(2,4),(4,1),(4,2),(4,3),(4,4)    4                            7/16

Using the probability formula

P(E)=\frac{Favorable\;outcomes}{Total\;number\;of\;outcomes}

Now,

E(X)=\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_iP(x_i)

E(x)=1(1/16)+2(3/16)+3(5/16)+4(7/16)

E(x)=\frac{1+6+15+28}{16}

E(x)=\frac{50}{16}=3.125

What are the solutions to the nonlinear equations below y=4x x^2 + y^2=17
wolverine [178]

Answer:

x = 1 and x = -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Next time, please separate the equations with a comma or semicolon.  Thanks.

We can substitute 4x for y in the quadratic equation x^2 + y^2=17:

x² + (4x)²=17.

Then x² + 16x² = 17, or

17x² = 17, or x² = 1.  There are two solutions:  x = 1 and x = -1.
