Match the synthetic materials with the processes used to make them.
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

  1. synthetic polyme - [using oil and gas as starting materials]
  2. alloy - [mixing a metal element with other elements]
  3. ceramic - [heating clay and sand at high temperatures]

Explanation:

  • Synthetic polymers are macromolecules formed by the union of monomers, obtained artificially. Examples of this type of compounds are polyethylene, nylon and bakelite. These polymers allow the manufacture of synthetic fibers with the aim of developing functional products (yarns and fabrics) and even medical articles. In the synthesis of polyamide yarns, a detailed quality control is carried out in order to regulate the thickness and the uniformity of the fibers so that they can have different utility.
  • An alloy is a combination of metallic properties, which is composed of two or more solid metallic elements. The alloys are made up of metallic elements such as Fe (iron), Al (aluminum), Cu (copper), Pb (lead), concrete examples of a wide range of metals that can be alloyed. The alloying element may be non-metallic, such as: P (phosphorus), C (carbon), Si (silicon), S (sulfur), As (arsenic).
  • Ceramics, is the art of making pots and other objects made of clay or other ceramic material by the action of heat, that is, cooked at a temperature higher than 400 or 500 degrees. The result is a diverse variety of pieces or terracotta objects - or "coarse" pottery -, earthenware and porcelain set. Besides naming the technique and its activity, it also gives name to the set of objects and production.

Describe a way in which religion influenced life in the United States.
slega [8]

Answer:

Explanation:

Religion influenced not only the US, but the whole world in a negative way because people tend to get fanatic over religious aspects. Religious people tend to think that the ones who don't follow their religion and/or think in a different way, are bad people and shall be judged, criticized and left aside because they won't be saved by God's infinite pity.
