The rural areas of China had not experienced any significant development and mostly stagnate; the rural areas of China have remained mostly poor, the opportunities are limited mostly to working in agriculture, they have stagnated in time unlike the urban areas of the country, the income is very low, and prospering into this environment is extremely difficult and usually limited to only certain individuals.
