how do you think segregation made the united states look in the eyes of many in the larger world in the 1950s?
Eva8 [605]

Segregation in United states were legitimized under the doctrine separate but equal mentioned in the constitution. The constitution was actually misinterpreted and the supreme court gave a land mark verdict in the Brown Vs. Board of education case.

Explanation:

During 1950s Jim Crow laws made segregation legal. African Americans were treated badly during that time. The main effect of segregation was that people started to show hatred and disgust to one group of people who belonged to one particular race. Public utilities were segregated based on the ethnicity and race of the people. African Americans were given different rest rooms, cabs, public transports, schools, even the place of drinking water facility were segregated for the whites and blacks.

Separate but equal doctrine in the constitution aimed for equal protection of all but it carried a subtle component of inequality which was recognized by the supreme court and a landmark verdict was given in Brown Vs. Board of education case stating that segregation must be banned.

What was one reason that Patriots were more willing to go to war with Britain than the Loyalists? (5 points)
ozzi

Answer:

d ) Patriots were more likely than Loyalists to believe in the idea of consent of the governed.

Explanation:

The first thing you would understand is that Loyalists were called Loyalists because they supported the rules of Great Britain. If they supported staying as a colony, why would they have any will in the first place to "go to war" with Great Britain if they are contend with the status they hold during the time? The only group that wanted to go to war was the Patriot group, not the Loyalist group.

You want to cut bookmarks that are 6 inches long and 2 3/8 inches wide form a sheet of paper that is 13 inches long and 6 inches
OlgaM077 [116]
Think about it 13 divided by 6 can be 2 with a remainder. 6 divided by 2 (round it.) it's 3. Even if we rounded way up, to 3, 6 divided by 3 is still 2. You can make 2 bookmarks per sheet of paper
