The art of the Amarna period was known to be a significant and sudden break from its predecessor. This was restored after the death of Akhenaten. The art is distinctly characterized by a sense of movement and activity in images. The images and figures have raised heads, many figures overlapping and many scenes busy and crowded. The images with human bodies are portrayed with slender, swaying, and with exaggerated extremities. Temples during this period were also different in ways that in this period they were smaller, with sanctuaries open to the sun, containing large number of altars. Another distinct feature was they had no closing doors. </span>
