The Great Plains of the United States is a high and wide plateau that extends east of the Rocky Mountains, in the American continent.

Since the British colonization of the United States, several colonists wanted to settle there. However, the arid and dry climate of the region dificult it.

On the other hand, in this area periodically (about every 25 years), there are drought events and strong winds and large amounts of dust can cause dust storms that are quite harmful to crops and establishments.
