Answer:

Locke encouraged government to be for The People, by the people. In other words, one person should not be able to have more power than any other person in the republic.

The new enlightnment ideas also encouraged people to be in the pursuit of happiness, have the right to private property, and most importantly, separate the church from the state.

Explanation:

In a nutshell...enlightenment philosophers like Locke. challenged the idea of the Divine rights of kings when they pointed out that in The Bible, when God told Adam that he (Adam) rules above everything else that God had created, God didn't mean ONE single person (Adam) was going to be ruling above everyone else (Patriarchy), but instead human kind as a whole to rule above the animals, plants, waters and such.

Correct answer: A) Help countries torn by conflict create conditions for lasting peace.

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to UN Peacekeeping Forces in 1988. In awarding the Prize, the Nobel Foundation described the mission of UN Peacekeeping Forces in this way:

The United Nations Peacekeeping Forces are employed by the World Organization to maintain or re-establish peace in an area of armed conflict. The UN may engage in conflicts between states as well as in struggles within states. The UN acts as an impartial third party in order to prepare the ground for a settlement of the issues that have provoked armed conflict. If it proves impossible to achieve a peaceful settlement, the presence of UN forces may contribute to reducing the level of conflict.
