Write your summary of the first paragraph of “Better Never to have met at all”
ruslelena [56]

When constructing a summary, the thing to keep in mind is that you will first begin with the title of the piece followed by the author, then follow that with your idea of what the text’s main idea is--the text's thesis.  Next, you will sum up (in your own words) the points that are addressed within the text.  The thing to remember when constructing summaries is that you should only retell the facts and be sure to exclude your opinion on what it is you have just read.  Thus, there will be no analysis taking place, just a condensed version of what it is you are attempting to summarize.

What is Montagu's view of swift in the passage, and how does she use sarcasm' satire, or irony to convey that point of view? Use
Nikolay [14]

The poem is about the toilet humor, and the satire is seen on the upper-class woman in the dressing room with her constant efforts to make her beautiful.

Explanation

She takes five hours to beautify herself. Ideally, this is satirical.

The iron is seen when a man visits a prostitute but fails to perform.

However, he supposedly questions Swift and says that Montagu's knowledge lies on prostitutes.

The poem, therefore, is generally ironical and malicious since it targets specific people within the setting.

Do you think the mood of the speaker in Thomas Hardy's "The Darkling Thrush" changes because of the thrush's song? Explain in a
zhuklara [117]
I believe that the thrush's song changed the mood. It was a song filled with hope which inspired Hardy to gain hope. The Darking thrust was a bird who was described as weak, very fragile and whose feathers that were blown around by a strong wind. Even though he was described as this weak and fragile thing he still sacrificed himself. Hope this helps
