Describe the setting of, The Bicentennial Man. Think about where and when this story takes place. Why does the setting change? H
g100num [7]

Isaac Asimov's novelette, "The Bicentennial Man" was published in the year of 1976. The "Bicentennial Man" recieves that name because it tells the story of a robot, which legally acquires the name of "Andrew Martin" as in the family that first purchased it when it was a robot. He is allowed by the family to practice work outside of his house robot chores, such as woodworking and craftsmanship. Robot Andrew even made toys. The setting changes because at the begining he lives with the family that ownes him, but since the novel tells the adventures of Robot Andrew during two hundred years, Andrew changes his locations. During those years he gradually became medically human. The story in general questions what really makes us human and it tells how much someone is willing to do to achieve their goals. At the end of the story, Andrew gets himself declared legally human and on the date of his death it is said it was of "natural death" this making him the oldest human being that ever lived.
