Answer:

The graph of the linear equation, y = 1/2x - 3 crosses the y-axis at (0, -3).

Step-by-step explanation:

The y-intercept is the point on the graph where it crosses the y-axis, which has coordinates of (0, <em>b </em>). It is also the value of y when x = 0.

For linear equations in slope-intercept form, y = mx + b:

m = slope

b = y-intercept

The y-intercept of the given equation, y = 1/2x - 3 is -3. Its coordinates is (0, -3). It is at this point on the graph where the line crosses the y-axis.

What is the estimate of 256+321
Sati [7]
The estimate would be 2+3 5+2 and 6+1 so 577 you can also just round and do 250 +300= 550 +20=570

How to subtract algebraic fractions
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

\frac{5x+16}{(x+4)(x+6)}

Step-by-step explanation:

Before subtracting we require the fractions to have a common denominator.

The lowest common multiple of x + 4 and x + 6 is (x + 4)(x + 6)

Multiply the numerator/denominator of the first fraction by x + 6 and

multiply the numerator/denominator of the second fraction by x + 4

= \frac{(x+2)(x+6)}{(x+4)(x+6)} - \frac{(x-1)(x+4)}{(x+4)(x+6)}

Expand the numerators and simplify leaving the denominator

= \frac{x^2+8x+12-(x^2+3x-4)}{(x+4)(x+6)}

= \frac{x^2+8x+12-x^2-3x+4}{(x+4)(x+6)}

= \frac{5x+16}{(x+4)(x+6)}

I don't understand how you do it
Alekssandra [29.7K]
Container A:
y=-6x+800
800 is y intercept( it already have 800 before leaking)
leaking means that its went down so it had to be negative -6x)
container B:
y=-10x+1000
same thing with a container B
-6x+800=-10x+1000  =   800-6x=1000-10x
