Answer:

A) 2L + 2W = 70

B) L+7 = W

B) L -W = -7

B) 2L -2W = -14 then we add equation A)

A) 2L + 2W = 70

4L = 56

Length = 14 inches

Width = 21 inches

Answer:

Given Perimeter= 70inches.

Lenght=7 less than twice the widthor breadth.

           = 2b-7

breadth(or width)=b

Now Permieter of rectangle= 2(l+b) [NOTE: breadtha nd width are same here so we can use with as breth.]

∴2(l+b=)70

⇒2(l+b)=70

We knwow that length=2b-7

⇒2 (2b-7+b)=70

⇒2(2b+b-7)=70

⇒2(3b-7)=70

Opening the bracket...

⇒6b-14=70

Transposing (-14) to the RHS will make it (+14)

⇒6b=70+14

⇒6b=84

Transposing 6 to the RHS...

⇒b=84/6

⇒b=14

Now we have b=14

So we need to find what the lenght is, and as we have the equation L= 2b-7 and now we also know what the value of b is so we can solve the equation to find the lenght.

⇒2b-7= Lenght

⇒2(14)-7=Lenght

⇒28-7=Lenght

⇒21=Lenght

Therfore Lenght is 21 inches and Breadth is 14 inches

Ari stocks shelves at a grocery store.He puts 35 cans of juice in each display case.The case has 4 shelves with an equal number
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

There are 8 cans on each of the equal shelves

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of cans put in display = 35

Shelves with equal no of cans = 4 Shelves

And one shelf displays only 3 cans

Therefore, 4 shelves with equal no of cans + 1 shelf with 3 cans = 35 cans

Let us assume equal no. of cans be x

We get, 4x + 3 = 35

             4x = 35 - 3

             4x = 32

              x  = 32 ÷ 4

              x = 8

Thus, 4 shelves with equal no of cans contains 8 cans each.

Is (-3,4) a solution of the inequality y> - 2x – 3?
jeyben [28]

Answer:

  (-3, 4) is a solution

Step-by-step explanation:

The point (-3, 4) is inside the shaded area of the graph, so is a solution.

You can check in the inequality

  y > -2x -3

  4 > -2(-3) -3 . . . . substitute for x and y

  4 > 3 . . . . . . . true; the given point is a solution
