Answer: American colonists rebelled against the taxes they found repressive, rallying around the cry, “no taxation without representation.” Skirmishes between colonists and soldiers—and between patriot colonists and colonists loyal to Britain (loyalists)—were increasingly common. Tensions began to grow, and in Boston in February 1770 a patriot mob attacked a British loyalist, who fired a gun at them, killing a boy. In the ensuing days brawls between colonists and British soldiers eventually culminated in the Boston Massacre.

Explanation: The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that occurred on March 5, 1770, on King Street in Boston. It began as a street brawl between American colonists and a lone British soldier, but quickly escalated to a chaotic, bloody slaughter. The conflict energized anti-British sentiment and paved the way for the American Revolution.

How is a presidential election different from elections for most local, state, and other federal offices?
lawyer [7]

Answer:

B. Citizens indirectly vote for the president, while they directly vote for candidates for most other offices.

Explanation:

As the Presidential elections are held with an electoral vote, citizens show their preferences for a certain candidate to office, once a state is won by one candidate or another the electoral votes go to that candidate depending on the state could be from 55 electoral votes in California, to 3 in several smaller states. This means that the popular vote can go to one candidate and still not be elected if the electoral vote goes the other way, most local, state and other federal offices are won by popular vote.
