Romeo loves both at first sight. However, Rosaline does not love him because she values her chasity. Her beliefs prevent her from loving him. Romeo is morose and sad, in a whirlpool of depression because of this. However, Juliet is able to give him love back, making Romeo happier and feel more capable of love.

Rom.eo's initial attitude towards both Juli.et and Rosaline is quite similar. At the beginning, Rom.eo falls in love with both of them immediately. Rom.eo is a romantic character who believes in love at first sight. However, his approach to both women is quite different after this initial interest. As Juli.et is more willing than Rosaline to entertain the idea, Rom.eo becomes more emboldened with Juli.et. He is more decided when he pursues her, and he is willing to eventually die for her love.

Read these lines from the poem. Dear friends, reproach me not for what I do, Nor counsel me, nor pity me; nor say That I am wear
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

The purpose of the repetition is to intensify how the speaker does not want to receive criticism about his desires and the activities he does.

Explanation:

Repetition is the figure of language that allows a word to be repeated several times during a text, to intensify some textual element a meaning that the author is trying to convey.

We can see an example of repetition in the lines of the poem “Dear Friends” by Arlington, presented in the question above. The repetition is done through the use of the word "nor" where the speaker reinforces that he does not want to receive reprimands, criticisms or contrary opinions about what he wants to do and about what he does. It is likely that the speaker is referring to the criticism he receives for wanting to be a poet, but as this profession is his desire, he no longer wants to hear any contrary opinion about it.
