For what major reasons did the relationship between England and its thirteen North American colonies begin to deteriorate in the

aftermath of England's victory over France in the French and Indian War (1754-1763)? This deterioration seems peculiar. After all, the defeat of France removed England's major rival from North America and expanded England's holdings in North America. Certainly, both England and the residents of the North American colonies benefited from this, so why did their relationship grow worse?

Some of the major reasons the relationship between England and its thirteen North American colonies begin to deteriorate after the French and Indian War (1754-1763) are the following:

  • The government of Great Britain became more involved in the affairs of its thirteen North American colonies.

  • The government of Great Britain began imposing different Acts that are considered intolerable by the American colonies, in their bid to pay for the war debts.

  • The relationship between the two gee worse when there was no solution to their conflicts sight.

  • As North American colonies tried to repel the various outrageous Acts from the British government, the latter continue to bring more stifling unbearable Acts, thereby making the conflicts grew larger.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that several reasons made the relationship between England and its thirteen North American colonies begin to deteriorate and later grew worse.
