3/11 one uses they have the same numerator you have to look at the denominator which if things are divided into 11ths rather then 12ths, the 11ths pieces are going to be bigger therefore making 3/11 bigger then 3/12

A high school has 1,500 students. In a random sample of 50 students, 32 own one or more pets. Predict the number of students at
zavuch27 [327]
Hello!

First you have to find the rate between the amount of students surveyed by the total amount

You do this by dividing the total amount of students by the amount of students surveyed

1500 / 50 = 30

We multiply the amount of students that have a pet by this number

32 * 30 = 960

The answer is B)960

Hope this helps!

Suppose you have a $15 coupon that can be used on any purchase over $100 at your favorite clothing store. The discounted price o
victus00 [196]
Given that a coupon for $15 off will be applied on purchases over $100, the given discounted price of the jacket is $203. Since this is the discounted price, then it should be the price after the coupon has been used. To find the retail (or original) price, we simply add 15 back to 203. So the retail price should be $218.
