Try as he might, Thomas Edison was unable to create an effective way to take electricity to people's homes because D. He insisted on using direct current, which could only travel a short distance.

Thomas Edison:

 • Tried to transmit electricity directly to people's homes
 • Used only direct current to transmit power

Even though direct current supported the lights the day more than alternate current, it could not travel very far which meant that the supply plant had to be located near people.

This couldn't happen for the plant at the Niagara falls so we can conclude that Edison was unable to bring electricity to people's homes from there.

ASAP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What types of contributions have different groups made
adelina 88 [10]

The standard account of American immigration focuses on the acculturation and assimilation of immigrants and their children to American society. This analysis typically ignores the significant contributions of immigrants to the creation of American culture through the performing arts, sciences, and other cultural pursuits. Immigrants and their children are not born with more creative talents than native-born citizens, but their selectivity and marginality may have pushed and pulled those with ability into high-risk career paths that reward creative work. The presence of large numbers of talented immigrants in Hollywood, academia, and the high-tech industries has pushed American institutions to be more meritocratic and open to innovation than they would be otherwise.

Following world war ll a metaphoric “iron curtain” was drawn across Europe what was meant by this
hram777 [196]

An ideological division between western and eastern Europe.

The Iron Curtain separated Eastern Europe (which is under the USSR control), which contained Eastern Germany, Poland, etc, in which these places were placed under a Communist government.

On the other hand, Western Berlin (As Berlin was also split), and the three western nations parts (later placed together to become Western Germany), was given a democratic-like government instead, and, with western aid, was able to grow economically and was able to be repaired quickly.

Because condition inside the West was better, Eastern Germans quickly moved west-ward in search for better conditions, leading to the USSR building the Iron Curtain to keep East Germans from escaping, which led to the symbol of the division between the Communist nations and the Democratic.
