However, she becomes more isolated and lonely over time. In one line she says, 'I am half sick of shadows,' meaning she doesn’t want only to see the shadows of the people and their lives while being unable to live her life herself with other people.

When she sees Sir Lancelot, she is overflown with the wish for the company and decides to stop weaving and leave the island. However, she dies before arriving at the shore of Camelot. Her wish to meet other people and stop being alone brought down the said curse upon her.
