An editing effect is the cross dissolve. It can signify the changing of a scene, softly, as in the passage of time. Another editing effect is the cutaway, which can be used as a sneaky way to get rid of an unwanted part of the previous shot. But mainly the cutaway can be a comedic way to show another character's reaction to something.
Diegetic sound is sound that the characters can hear. In spongebob, patrick and his friends cant hear the background music, can they? No because its Non-Diegetic— it is meant for the audience to hear and enjoy, but when Patrick talks and Spongebob can hear him, that is diegetic sound because the characters can hear this sound
